A man walks into a bar. He's been fighting with his girlfriend of a little of a year a lot lately. After he's had a few, he starts asking people around him those questions about love, like how do you know when you love someone, what is love. ect.

Most of the answers he heard were dry. The same old crap you see in most romantic comedies. "Love's when you care so much about someone you go to the ends of the earth to make them happy," said one guy. "When they're loyal to you and never do anything to hurt you," said another. Others said love didn't exist. The man had heard just about enough. He was convinced that love was some garbage made up by someone to ruin lives.

As he was leaving, he spotted an older man sitting at the bar by himself. What the hell, he thought, and stepped up to the old man. He asked the same question he asked all night. But this time, the answer was different.

"Son, you might want to sit down a spell, this might take a while. I know what you're thinking. You're wondering if love's a real thing, if you have it with this woman of yours, and if it's worth hanging on to. Let me tell you something. Love's real. It's so rare, though, that most people have never really had it. That's why you'll hear so many people say it doesn't exist. It's real though, kid. It's very real.

"Love's kind of like this, though. It's when her smile is the most beautiful thing in the world, because its hers. She's the kind of woman that makes life living. You went through your whole life without her always feeling like something's missing, and she's it. Everything makes sense when you're with her. She's the one who takes care of you when no one else will, who will listen when no one else will, and will walk through fire with you when no one else will.

"But listen here. A lot of people don't know what they have. You'll throw it away and realize it was the biggest mistake of your life. You'll feel lonely even when you're surrounded by your friends. You'll date other women, sure, but it will never be the same. You'll wake up some mornings, after thinking you're over her, and that feeling you thought you had forgotten will come right back.

"At this point, though, you won't hate her, no. You'll be stuck loving her when she can never love you back. You'll only ever be able to just be friends, and you'll say its ok, but it will kill you every day you talk to her. Deep, the man thought.

The man was in awe. He got up, stumbled out the door and had his ear glued to his cell phone, telling his woman he's on his way home and wants to make everything right. The old man cracked a smile, sighed, looked down at his ring, and laughed a bit. It seemed he had saved yet another relationship, or at least gave it hope. A good way to spend the evening, he thought.

Then, a gloomy look overcame him. A quiet whisper escaped him, "I wish I never let go."

Haii people. A lot haz beeen happening. As usual my blog is dead. I guess the passion's gone, but sigh. Recently life has been... weird. Just going really fast. I keep thinking yesterday was the 14th, super long day, and one of the most fruitful days in ages I guess. 13th was the end of my EYAs btw. So yeah, got sunburn ttm at sentosa on 14th. Now my face is peeling, cui like hell LOL. Stopped wearing bra at home also, PAIN YOU KNOW?

I feel like I'mma hypocrite sometimes, but I'm sure that's the case for most people.

I say that looks don't matter, but when someone compliments me for looking pretty(btw, I'm not), I feel better. When your friend has a new crush, what's the first thing people asks her? "Is he cute?" We say that looks don't matter, but when we insult someone, don't we insult their appearance too, most of the time?

When I tell my friends, whose BMI are like <16, that they are too skinny and should eat more, gain weight. But part of me wants to be skinny, not as skinny as them, but slimmer than I am now. JEALOUSLY. Really, even though my BMI is at the healthiest range and I'm pretty much an athlete.

I say that big girls are beautiful, but once, when I was pmsing and felt really fat, I sobbed into my pillow late at night. I constantly complain of having fat thighs.

We say that looks don't matter, and we shouldn't strive to look perfect, but don't all girls and most guys try to get rid of their pimples and blemishes? Facial wash, make up, etc.

We say that our soul mate should love us for our character, but when our special someone tell us that we look ravishing, don't our hearts flutter?

Doesn't everyone want to look good... drop dead gorgeous actually. Or at least look better than they do now. Who actually looks at inner beauty these days.

I found some of my old P5, P6, school stuff that I haven't looked at in years.

I remember that day, just about a month or less ago, I was with Heidi and Jueying on the bus to fareast.

They asked, why, why do you want to have a tattoo? The colour will fade, plus with the funny wrinkly skin when I'm old would look fugly. It'll be out of shape and when people see it, they'll go wtflol??? And, it'll stretch along with pregnancy and stuff. Not good.

And what if I regret it? Or like some 10 years later, I won't like it anymore, or it would remind me of the past when I don't want to remember it. And lasering isnt perfect either, a tattoo marks the skin permanently.

I replied, something like: (even if it's ugly in the future) so what? Imprints of the past reminds us of what's real and what's not.

A single simple tattoo can symbolize a phase of our life. Since society in Singapore views tatts as taboo, it's alright if it isn't all that obvious. I still value first impressions.

But I seriously disagree with what Heidi and Jue said.

I won't ever want to forget my past. Sometimes, I doubt my memories. I wonder, what really happened? I may have remembered wrongly.

I think of what my views on things were last time. My friends then. My friends now. The things I did. Things I'm trying to change now. Everything.

Think of how my upbringing has made me into the person I am now. The bad things that had happened. The things that make me go insanely happy. The things that makes me me.

gawd. I sound dumb. This argument is so messily written. Let me put what I've learnt in Philo class to use (mind you, i make an effort to stay awake, but to almost no avail -0-)

p2: who you are is self identity (or whatever the word is. cant think of anything now)

yo people. Sorry I haven't updated in so long. I swear I'm either busy or lazy. Like, I'm either busy, or that when I'm free, I don't have the blogging mood.

Hai guys. I'm sick now. I actually had fever on Fri and still went to school, but I recovered and played the match later that day. Awesome right? Ikr.

Anyway, on Saturday, went out with bro & mom.... got a new cam.(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I actually only recently confessed that my camera was broken. Anyway my new cam is way better than my old cam, and it's actually cheaper wtf. Yah, my old cam was spoiled at the lenses, so no point repairing, not worth the $.

My sole motive to come here is to announce that Sandra Leong is not like me or many of my RGS friends.

I predict many had formed the impression that 90% of Rafflesians are snobs, after reading her article.
I beg to differ.
For starters, "conceited and felt unsympathetic to the world around" is so not true.
And I know people with family problems or constant little conflicts within the family. That is quite painful, and many RGS girls aren't oh-I-live-in-a-private-property-and-don't-take-public-transport-and-daddy-gives-me-fifty-bucks-per-school-day kindda thing at all ouhkay.

Many of us have friends from neighbourhood schools, some from our primary schools, church, tuition, parent's friends' children, internet and other means.

RGS girls don't live in a bubble wrap.

Yup, and I know RGS girls from very rich families who aren't snobs.

I went to RGS because I wanted good education. I'm certain many other girls did so too. How does holistic, all rounded education sound to you? I'm sure you too do want a bright future, and give back to society.

pictures speak a thousand words, so I decided to post up a few more pictures today to depict the various aspects of my life without boring you guys with text.

Yes, I'm a diverse person. And I behave quite well in school. I swear, I do consider myself kindda guai.
I guess everything boils down to that everyone just wants to be happy, thus find ways to have fun. Yes, I'm aware that I'm in one of the top schools in Singapore, an opportunity that many people don't even dare to dream about.
I'm sorry if you think that I'm just plain ruining the school's good reputation; spoiling the pristine name. I really can't help you if you think that way (: But I am absolutely sure that that was never my intention.

Good day to you, I am Madeline Tan, 13 this year and I have a straw in my left earlobe. I play basketball and it's my cca in the prestigious school I currently study in(Miracle how I got in :/). However, I did not get into the school team this year and I am unsatisfied with the way I play. I am willing to train as I enjoy the sport a lot.

I'd like to think that I am a nice person. Fine, I'm kind of crazy sometimes. But seriously, I've been good to people for the whole year. Maybe mean when I get pissed, hurt, mood swings or am too tired, but overall I have not a major argument. I generally treat people well and I try not to gossip.

Anyway, I just feel like talking about my batchmates. Well, we have been through quite a lot of sufferings together, no? I think we are quite a bonded batch! Yup, and I appreciate you guys a lot and how we can just suan each other. Fine, so I'm not quite your typical top school student sometimes, and it is very heart warming that you guys don't talk behind my back and shizz like that. It is kind of pissing because everyone's different, nobody's perfect and I know I am far from that. I've done things that I'm not proud of... who haven't?

Malaysia trip, 23- 26Nov, I hope we all have an enjoyable time!

Some 11months ago, I entered a school, not knowing almost anyone, but I've got an awesome class that put up with all the insane stunts I pull, to name a few examples-- stripping in class, singing excessively killing brain cells and being a slower learner.

It has been one week of holidays, though it don't feel like holidays to me at all as from Mon- Fri were basketball related activities, but I am grateful my dearest onions. I'm only close to a small bunch of you but I love all the onions. Enjoy your holidays, don't rot at home like you all said you did in June, because that's kind of no life (x

Y'know what? I've been feeling a mix of emotions lately, but fighting within myself to be happy and gleeful so I could study with a clear mind. I also have this resolution to be extremely responsible in school and I think I am improving. I guess it's true that to err is human, and yes from each mistake, especially the ones we commit ourselves, we should learn from it. I really wonder what would've happened if my mom didn't call me that night. I also wonder what it would be like if I didn't build on excuses and lies to come up with that story. The truth would probably cause me to be a permanently caged bird-- worse than just stupid curfews that I have now. I talked to friends in school about it, indirectly and directly, and I swear I don't know how I would be reacting if an episode like that comes knocking on my door again. Thinking back, I initiated the wrong parts... & I'm not ashamed up til now?! Am I? Idk. I think after talking to those schoolmates, my views on underage heavy drinking, sex, clubbing are slowly getting tinted by their opinions.
I guess right now I'm thankful I have not done any of those, although I must admit I somewhat had plans.

21sept has been a nice day. Started is with sneaking out successfully. lol. Almost walked pass a police post, how dumb can I be? Went back successfully. Woohoo. Probably sneak out more after EYAs. Slept, woke up at almost 8ish, waited for Cass at Mrt and she was late-.-

Left with Chinese Oral. Thursday was triple humanes, whoever schedules the exams is quite siao. Died but was still overall happy because I tried.
After that, stayed back for Malay SP, WHILE PEOPLE WENT TO BUGIS. People being Isy, Farah, Sarah, JY & Phyll.
And JY was determined for me to pon Malay but I can't because I missed the last lesson unintentionally.
Oh and guess what the lesson that I ponned previously is actually one of the key exam topics. Suay much?
So anyway we ended up playing 'scissors paper stone' and if I won I would pon Malay. At first I lost. Then after that JueYing wanted rematch and then she purposely try to lose to me. And then the people who went Bugis all started to randomly play 'scissors paper stone' in the hallway. Making a hell lot of noise and laughter-- retardedness :D
Most of them were neutral except JueYing who wanted me to pon and Phyllis who didn't.

Haven't blogged properly in ages.
FIRSTLY I WANT TO RANT. I do not feel like stretching my ear further, but the tunnel-plug I bought today is like, one size bigger. (I thought it was the same size). I can only put it through slightly more than halfway, and man that stinks.
My ear is quite sore now and it is hugging closely on the current ear stick. I bet it would shrink super fast if there wasn't any.

I'm still quite unsatisfied at myself. I mean, yes, I have been coming home early. The thing is that I haven't been studying or doing homework that I can actually get away not doing but would benefit me if I do. Doesn't really affect my grades if I come back right after school, right in time for dinner, or just to sleep, does it? Still the same amount of time spent studying-- in school. It just wastes away my efforts of coming home earlier, sigh.

Then did Math until I felt like, really drop dead sleepy. I slept til dinner and relaxed the rest of the day.

So what happened was since yesterday I noticed that it has migrated even more towards the tip and I sort of knew it was going to reject already.

Ah but I guess I'm alright now, my tragus is too small, gotta just accept the fact. It was pierced close to the tip and the dude who pierced me said it's because there are very important stuffs and it'll hurt more.

Because strangely, I really feel like giving up on it.

I'm deffo not gon' be scientist of any sort, mathematician, historian or geographer.

Funny if this was the end of P1 this thought would have never crossed my mind, 296/300, 1st in class along with 2 others.
Wonder why I let my diligence level regress all that much in P2, did badly that year and just kept on getting lazier.
P6 I tried to not be lazy by coming home but I just end up rotting at home.

School- PE, Mrs J pissed at us for being late.
Did Discus, grass was wet, damn disgusting :O
Had recess.
